Admissions

Animals which are scheduled for elective surgery or dentistry are seen by the doctor by appointment upon check-in.  The owner is requested to be present for the pre-anesthesia exam so questions can be asked of and by the doctor, and so the owner can review and sign the standard consent form.  Pre-anesthesia blood testing and/or electrocardiogram is offered at an additional cost, and the pros and cons of this testing can be discussed during the pre-anesthesia exam.

We also offer the AVID Microchip, which is for permanent identification of the animal in the event the pet is lost, stolen, or has to be identified for travel to certain areas of the world or for OFA certification.  The microchip can be inserted without anesthesia, but when the animal is going to be anesthetized, it is a good time to have it done.
